Creative accessibility as part of the TIKSI project: case Livsfarligt på allvar! 

A brief intro to creative accessibility as part of the TIKSI project. 

How can a murder mystery be both artistic and accessible? We’ll take you behind the scenes of Livsfarligt på allvar!, a collaboration between DuvTeatern, Svenska Teatern, and Uniarts Helsinki’s Theatre Academy,  to show how accessibility can be integrated into the artistic process. Artists, accessibility consultants, and performers share their experiences of working with creative accessibility in the production.

Location: G18 Ball room (2nd floor), Yrjönkatu 18, Helsinki. The Ballroom is wheelchair accessible, and the building has a restroom suitable for manual wheelchairs. 

For: Professionals and students in the performing arts field

Language: The main language of the seminar is spoken English. Finnish Sign Language will also be used in the programme, and interpretation between spoken English and Finnish Sign Language will be provided. We are exploring the possibility of providing interpretation into International Sign Language as well. We aim to integrate audio description into the programme.

Accessibility at G18

The accessible entrance to the building is reached via the courtyard.

The courtyard can be accessed through the metal gate at Yrjönkatu 16 (Georgsgatan 16). 

Follow the blue wheelchair signs to the glass doors.

Inside the doors, there is an elevator.
The ball room on the 2nd floor is accessible by elevator.

There is a restroom suitable for manual wheelchairs on the third floor.
